| •Saturday, February 13, 2010 @ 8PM Our season has concluded. It has been a very enjoyable one! Thanks to each and every wrestler's hard work and dedication. Today's city tournament wrapped about 8PM tonight. Congrats to the three wrestlers participated: Will Hodge, Richard Hawkins, and Nathan Tutt. Kudos to Will for placing 4th in the city! Thanks to the cheerleaders, Mr. Hubble, Mrs. Schimenti, and the parents for spending time with us today. A special thanks to Mrs. Purcell-Orleck for being with the team every step of the way! Nathan and Will said thanks for coaching the team as they walked away tonight, but it is the coach who is saying that even louder! Thanks for letting me be a part of a fun season! - Mr. P •Saturday, February 6, 2010 @ 8PM The Eastern Division Tournament is now history. Meigs placed 9th. Congrats to three wrestlers who placed and are now going to the city tournament: Nathan Tutt (3rd), Richard Hawkins (4th), and Will Hodge (4th). Check out the results of the tournament [HERE]. There will be no practice on Monday, February 8. The wrestling team will be working at the basketball concession stand for the last home game Monday. Practice for the city qualifers will resume Tuesday. •Monday, February 1, 2010 @ 5PM We're now ready to focus our eyes on the tournaments! Due to the snow, the Eastern Division Tournament has been re-scheduled to Saturday, February 6, 2010. This week's preparation for the tournament will include practice on Wednesday and Thursday, February 3-4. There will be no practice on Friday, February 5. The wrestling team will be working at the basketball concession stand for the last home game when it is re-scheduled from February 2. •Wednesday, January 27, 2010 @ 7PM MMS WRESTLING ends the regular season at 5-4-1. Congratulations to Brandon Bryant, Nathan Tutt, James Bates, Will Hodge, and Tristan Golter for their team points. Congrats to Kevin Stevenson, Tim Esaw, and Richard Hawkins for their individual PINS! The final score against Donelson was 48-18. AWESOME JOB GUYS! We're now ready to focus our eyes on the tournament! •Monday, January 25, 2010 @ 7PM MMS WRESTLING is now 4-4-1. Congratulations to Robert Hudson, Brandon Bryant, Will Hodge, and Tristan Golter for their team points. Congrats to Tim Esaw, and Richard Hawkins for their individual WINS! The final score against Brick Church was 32-33. AWESOME JOB GUYS! Check us out on Wednesday as we wrestle Donelson. •Monday, January 11, 2010 @ 7PM MMS WRESTLING is now 4-1-1. Congratulations to Robert Hudson, Shelton Clark, Tim Esaw, David Velthiem, Will Anderson, and Will Hodge for their WINS or PINS! A note, David's pin was in 44 short seconds! You're a machine, dude! The final score against Goodlettsville was 36-34. AWESOME JOB GUYS! Check us out on Wednesday as we wrestle Dupont Tyler. •Wednesday, December 16, 2009 @ 7PM MMS WRESTLING is now 3-1-1. Congratulations to Robert Hudson, Kevin Stevenson, Tim Esaw, Nathan Tutt, and Richard Hawkins for their WINS or PINS! The final score against Two Rivers was 27-39. Although Meigs lost in total team points, our team was by far the best wrestlers! AWESOME JOB GUYS! •Wednesday, December 9, 2009 @ 7PM MMS WRESTLING is now 3-0-1 and remain UNDEFEATED! The MMS Wrestlers had what were the very best fought matches of the season at Haynes Middle School on Wednesday, December 9. Kudos to Brandon Bryant, Kevin Stevenson, Tim Esaw, Nathan Tutt, Richard Hawkins, and Will Hodge for six unbelievable PINS! The final score against Haynes was a tie, 36-36. Meigs tied Haynes even after giving up multiple weight classes due to illness and injury. Imagine the score if we hadn't had to forfeit any weight classes. AWESOME JOB GUYS! •Monday, December 7, 2009 @ 10PM MMS WRESTLING is 3-0! The MMS Wrestlers improved to an undefeated 3-0 after a tri-meet on Monday, December 7. Meigs has defeated Neely's Bend, Litton, and Dupont-Hadley. •Monday, November 23, 2009 @ 8AM ALERT: There is only one practice time this week. It is Tuesday, November 24 from 3:15PM - 4:45PM. In practice Tuesday, we will continue practicing moves such as the half-nelsen, sprawling, take-downs, shooting, break-downs, cross-face, and begin learning a cradle! We will also have live 2 minute wrestling periods for everyone. Don't forget to eat healthy and exercise through Thanksgiving break. Next week we will have practice every day and have our first match. It is against Neely's Bend on Wednesday, December 2 at 4:45PM at Meigs. Note at the top of this webpage, there is a link for contact info for parents to use to contact each other for carpooling to away matches. •Monday, November 16, 2009 @ 8AM ALERT: Practice times are Mon-Fri from 3:15PM-4:45PM. All wrestlers MUST be dressed and ready to go at 3:15PM. Coach Parsons will be at practice on Tuesday. Another teacher will supervise practice Monday. See Mrs. Mennen about ordering a warm-up. These are being ordered through her, not Meigs. Thanks for doing this for the team, Mrs. Mennen! In practice this week, we will continue practicing moves such as the half-nelsen, sprawling, take-downs, shooting, break-downs, and the dreaded cross-face! We will also have live 2 minute wrestling periods for everyone each day. •Monday, October 26, 2009 @ 8AM ALERT: Meigs Wrestling begins on Wednesday, November 4. Practice times are Mon-Fri from 3:15PM-4:45PM. All wrestlers MUST have all forms turned in to Coach Parsons in Room 213 or the office before practicing. All wrestlers MUST be at all practices unless permitted to be absent by Coach Parsons. Parents need to be at MMS at 4:45PM for pick up in the car lane by the cafeteria (not the gym). We will focus the week of Nov. 9 on basic moves and conditioning. Wrestlers will need to begin keeping a health log detailing food intake, exercising, etc. Forms will be accessed on line.
